4. A fire started in the early hours of the morning on Sunday 2nd September Thomas Farynor and his family had to escape on the roof.

5. The Lord Mayor was woken up and told about the fire but he went back to bed.

6. People tried to put the fire out using leather buckets

7. People tried to escape by boat.

8. King Charles II and the Lord Mayor tried to think of a plan to stop the fire.

9. Eventually the fire died down but people were left with no homes or belongings.
