2 Who uses PPAC? Current Auburn University students applying to dental/medical/optometry schools Current Auburn University students applying to Alabama rural medicine programs PPAC reapplicants applying for the second time Auburn University alumni who graduated recently and meet specific criteria

3 What is PPAC? Pre-Professional Advisory Committee, a faculty committee at Auburn University PPAC helps AU students with the application process to dental/medical/optometry schools PPAC conducts interviews and completes 2 evaluation forms/letters for each applicant PPAC stores evaluations received from 3 or 4 non-PPAC evaluators chosen by the applicant PPAC reviews each applicant’s file and drafts a committee letter PPAC transmits the committee letter and all individual forms and letters to application services electronically

4 When should you use PPAC?
When your application is competitive When you can meet the deadlines set by PPAC Eighteen months before you plan to enroll in a dental/medical/optometry school

6 Why use PPAC? PPAC evaluations are preferred by some professional schools PPAC provides guidance about your competitiveness, admission tests, deadlines, personal statements, interviews, etc. PPAC makes it easier to complete the actual professional school applications

7 How to “Pass” PPAC Submit materials to PPAC and the professional schools early to impress everyone involved with the process! Be careful when completing forms, writing your personal statement, calculating your GPA’s! Demonstrate your ability to read and follow directions!
