1. Mooseheart-Moosehaven Endowment Fund
The foundation for financing our most charitable endeavors

2. What is the Endowment Fund?
A fund started by the Moose Legion for the sole purpose of operating Mooseheart and Moosehaven
Originally, only the interest from this fund was used to help offset the annual costs of our Child City and City of Contentment
In recent years, some of the monies donated that year had to be used for operations due to declining investment income

3. How do we encourage donations?
By holding an Endowment Fund collection each and every time you are gathered in the name of the Moose
Promote more frequent donations by putting a cradle or receptacle for the fund out in your social quarters, allowing for donations anytime
Educate members about the importance of this fund. A picture book of our cities and their residents is a powerful tool for raising donation levels
Put a running total in each issue of your newsletter

4. How do I remit it to Moose International?
As required by the General Laws of the Order, you must remit Endowment Fund collections monthly
Make a lodge check out to Moose Charities for the amount you raised the preceding month. Make sure to put “Endowment Fund” in the memo blank or it will be credited to the general fund. Then mail the check to Moose Charities.

5. How do I know how much money we have sent in this year?
Each quarter, Moose Charities sends out a quarterly report to each fraternal unit.
Ask your administrator or recorder to see the report, or attend a General Meeting where it should be read on the floor in August, November, February, and May.
Come to conventions and conferences. The Association Prelate receives the combined reports for all donors to the fund and should have them with him.

6. Where did we end for ?
WOTM – 26 out of 32 chapters made donations totaling $7,033.44
LOOM – 32 out of 34 lodges made donations totaling $26,147.28
Moose Legions, Districts & WSNIMA gave $4,457.06
Individual Donors – 4 individual donors gave a total of $350
Grand total - $37,987.78

7. How did we compare in ?
WOTM – 27 out of 32 chapters made donations totaling $
LOOM – 32 out of 34 lodges made donations totaling $20,453.44
Moose Legions, Districts & WSNIMA gave $
Individual Donors – 4 individual donors gave a total of $240
Grand total - $32,241.85
$ less than last year or only 33 cents per member less

9. Goals
Exceed last year’s combined donations and have 100% participation by every FRU
WOTM – Need combined donations of $ and the remaining seven chapters to send at least one donation on or before April 30th
LOOM – Need combined donations of $13,680 and the remaining 9 lodges to send at least one donation on or before April 30th
Individuals – Need to raise a total of $250 on or before April 30th
Legions, Districts & WSNIMA – Need to raise a total of $3,575 before April 30th
Total still needed to break last year’s donations? $22,694 or $2.20 per member between now and April 30th.

10. What can you do?
I know that each of you give to the Endowment Fund. What I am asking you for now is your help to educate and encourage others to give to this fund.
Go home to your lodge or chapter and ask the Administrator, Recorder or Secretary to see the quarterly report from Moose Charities.
Listen to the reading of the minutes for Endowment Fund collection amounts and keep a running total
These two numbers should match for every given quarter. If they don’t, your lodge or chapter is not sending the money in a timely manner.
Encourage your boards to make the monthly remittance. It is the right thing to do.
