Montgomery College - Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus Customer Service/Registration - (240) Course Information- Kathy Lewandowski (240) Computed Tomography Imaging Physics This course will provide a foundation that will be useful for expanding knowledge in Computed Tomography and as a preparation for the CT examination for registered radiographers who are currently working as radiographers. Content covered will include all ARRT content requirements: comprehensive coverage of the physical principles of CT and clinical applications, contrast media administration, parameters affecting CT image quality, quality control measurements, image reconstruction and post-processing, image display, artifacts and radiation safety and dosimeters. Tuition waiver applies; seniors pay fee only. Required textbook found in the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Bookstore, Computed Tomography Physical Principles, Clinical Applications, and Quality Control, 4th edition, Seeram, Euclid. Please have textbook for first day of class. Takoma Park.SS Campus HSC Room 423. Course #: AHT 206 CRN# Cost: $375 + $85 fee = $460.00; Non-residents: Add $160 Saturdays, April 8, 2017 through May 20, 2017 from 10 am to 2:15 pm Computed Tomography Imaging Clinical Practicum This course is a continuation of Computed Tomography Imaging Clinical Practicum and will offer students the ability to continue to perform Computed Tomography exams under the direct supervision of a registered technologist. Documentation of 125 CT studies in specific categories is required for the ARRT Computed Tomography Registry Examination. The student will be assigned for no more than 100 hours to an off-campus clinical site to perform a variety of computed tomography exams and may or may not accumulate the 125 exams. Students will be required to maintain their own records of signatures for these exams. Pre requisite for this clinical course include:, medical requirements, proof of current employment as a Radiographer and clinical placement availability. Student must have completed Montgomery College WDCE Computed Tomography Imaging, Contrast administration, MC or comparable cross sectional anatomy, and approval from instructor to enroll. Tuition waiver applies; seniors pay fee only. Course #: AHT 210 CRN# Cost: $205 + $60 fee = $300.00; Non-residents: Add $160 Begins: Monday, January 23, 2017 and ends Friday 5/19/2017. Dates and times are individualized to student and site. Cross Sectional Anatomy for CT and MRI Imaging Specialists This 15 hour course is designed to provide an in-depth understanding of cross sectional anatomy for imaging specialists. The course will cover sectional anatomy for the entire human body. Required Textbook is Sectional Anatomy for Imaging Professionals by Lorrie Kelley and Connie Petersen. Takoma Park.SS Campus HSC Room 423 Course #: AHT 195 CRN# Cost: $230 + $85 fee = $315.00; Non-residents: Add $160 Saturdays, February 25, 2017 through March 11, 2017 from 10 am to 2:15 pm Contrast media administration for ct imaging This 4 hour course is a pre requisite course for technologists who will be participating in the Computed Tomography Imagining Clinical Practicum. Venipuncture and contrast injection in the CT environment is covered. A mock practice lab is included. Clinical paperwork will be discussed and handed out at the end of this class. Takoma Park.SS Campus HSC Room Course #: AHT CRN# TBA Saturday, June 3, 2017 Magnetic Resonance Imaging This course is designed to provide the registered radiographers with the knowledge and understanding of content specifications required by the ARRT examination in Magnetic Resonance: patient care, imaging procedures, sequence parameters and options, data acquisition and processing, and physical principals of image formation. The content will include the risks and safety concerns related to MRI, MR signal production, T1 and T2 relaxation, relationship between tissue and image contrast, data acquisition, pulse sequences, sequence parameters and options, data manipulation, instrumentation, artifacts, and quality control. This course does not currently have a clinical component, students will need to acquire the necessary repetitions for the ARRT examination on their own. Tuition waiver applies; seniors pay fee only. Required textbook found in the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus Bookstore: MRI in Practice, 4th edition, Westbrook and Kaut Please note that Montgomery College does not currently offer clinical rotations for MRI.
