Early entries close 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the FTS’ address. Day-of-trial entries close 9:00 a.m. at the FTS’ table the day of the trial. ASFA Region 1 ASFA ALL BREED LURE FIELD TRIALS Saturday & Sunday, April 16 & 17, 2011 Tacoma Polo Club, th St E, Roy, WA Entry Fees: Early entry: $ st hound, $ nd hound, $14.00 each additional hound of same owner Day-of-Trial: $25.00 each hound ASFA regulations prohibit the field secretary from accepting conditional entries, including phone, unpaid, or non-certified or non-waivered FTE (First Time Entered) entries. Completed entries, with fees, must be received by Early Entry deadline. Certification runs will be offered before the Saturday trial, limited to 12 runs, at the cost of $10.00 per dog. You must pre-arrange certification runs with the Field Secretary ( OK - first come, first served) and must provide your own by-dog. Hounds certifying may enter the trial at early-entry fee only if paperwork is received at the secretary’s table by 9:00 a.m. the day of the trial. From the North: From I-5 take exit #127 (Hwy 512 Puyallup exit) towards Puyallup. Take the Pacific Ave exit (Hwy 7) and turn right. Go south on Pacific Ave approximately 5 miles to the Roy "Y" and bear right on WA-507/Spanaway McKenna Hwy. Go 1.2 miles and turn slight left onto 8th Ave. Go 5.2 miles and turn left into the first driveway after the flashing yellow light at the 288th St. intersection. Follow dirt road to the club house and find a place to park. From the South: Take I-5 exit 88A (Tenino exit) and follow to Yelm. Turn right at the stop light and follow to McKenna. Turn right at stop light in McKenna (Exxon station) on Hwy 702/352nd St. Go 5.3 miles to flashing yellow light and turn left on 8th Ave. Go approx. 3.5 miles. The Polo Field is down a dirt road in the trees on the right just before the 288th Street intersection, and will be marked with signage. Follow dirt road to the club house and find a place to park. A $5.00 fine will be charged to anybody caught not picking up after their dog or leaving garbage on the field. Anybody exhibiting unsportsmanlike behavior will be excused from the field and may be subject to further disciplinary action. These rules will be strictly enforced. Permission has been granted by the American Sighthound Field Association for the holding of this event under American Sighthound Field Association Rules and Regulations. Limited stake breeds, if any, are entered in the Limited Stake and currently include purebred Chart Polskis, Galgo Españols, Magyar Agars, Peruvian Inca Orchids, Portuguese Podengos and Silken Windhounds. All entries in the regular stakes shall be individually registered with AKC, UKC, NGA, FCI, an ASFA-recognized foreign or ASFA Board approved registry, or possess a Critique Registration Number (CRN) from the SPDBS. Dogs with an Indefinite Listing Privilege (ILP) or a Purebred Alternate Listing (PAL) from the AKC shall be considered registered with that body. Limited and/or Provisional stake entries shall be individually registered with the appropriate registry. A photocopy of acceptable registry must be submitted with a hound’s first ASFA field trial entry; this requirement is waived for Greyhounds registered with the NGA registry. Judges Valorie Hill, Abbotsford, BC Avery McLeod, Ethel WA Tom Robinson, Fort Langley, BC (S = Single Judge; P = Provisional Judge; * = Canadian Judge) Regular Stakes Offered All hounds entering Open, Veteran or Limited stakes for the first time must include a completed certification form or waiver (all breeds) and a copy of the hound’s registration certificate with their entry (waived for NGA Greyhounds only). OPEN STAKE: Any eligible sighthound, excluding ASFA Field Champions of record. FIELD CHAMPION STAKE: Any ASFA Field Champion. VETERAN STAKE: Any eligible hound whose age is at least six years, except Irish Wolfhounds whose age shall be at least five years, and Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Whippets and Afghan Hounds whose age shall be at least seven years. Points & placements go toward V-FCH & V-LCM titles. LIMITED STAKE: Any eligible sighthound of a Limited or Provisional stake breed that has met certification requirements. Not eligible to compete in Best of Breed or Best in Field. SINGLES STAKE: Any eligible sighthound including those disqualified to run in other stakes. Not eligible to compete in Best of Breed or Best in Field. BEST IN FIELD will be offered. Please see enclosure for instructions. All entries must be one year or older on the day of the trial. Stakes will be split into flights by public random draw if the entry in any regular stake is 20 or more. Bitches in season, lame hounds and hounds with breed disqualifications will be excused at roll call. Spayed, neutered, monorchid or cryptorchid hounds without breed disqualifications may be entered. Hounds with breed disqualifications are not eligible to enter except in the Single Stake. Hounds not present at the time of roll call will be scratched. All hounds will run twice, in trios if possible or braces (except in the Single Stake), unless excused, dismissed or disqualified. Hound certification runs will be offered before the trial (see front cover for details). Battery-powered DRAG lure machines will be used, with backup equipment on site. The lure will consist of white plastic and/or fur strips. A $5.00 fine will be collected from the handler of any non-competing hound running loose on the field during the course in progress, and from any person not cleaning up after his/her hound. No alcoholic beverages will be permitted on the site during trial hours. Persons exhibiting unsportsmanlike conduct detrimental to WWWA, ASFA, Tacoma Polo Club, any hound, or other person will be asked to leave the trial site and may be subject to further disciplinary action. Rosettes awarded for all placements, 1st through NBQ, Best of Breed, and Best In Field, for all breeds. Prizes awarded for 1st placements, BOB, and BIF for all breeds. Saturday Sunday Trial Hours: :00 a.m. 8:00 a.m. Certification Roll Call: :00 a.m. N/A Day-of-Trial Entries Close: :00 a.m. 9:00 a.m. Trial Roll Call: :00 a.m. 9:00 a.m. (Early inspection will be conducted after the start of trial hours and before the official roll call time – you are encouraged, but not required, to inspect your hounds early; hounds not present by the completion of roll call will be marked absent.)

Electronic Entries & Payment In 2006, ASFA Operational Policy #287 was revised as follows: “Fax and entries may be accepted by Field Trial Secretaries, but only in such cases as payment (e.g., by Paypal or similar service, or by credit card) is received at the time the entry is submitted.” Please read the following instructions carefully: Saturday 835 yards Sunday 725 yards Send entry fees via Paypal. All forms of Paypal payments, including credit cards, are accepted. In order for WWWA to avoid incurring paypal fees, payment MUST be made via the “personal” tab under payment options.. To send your entry fees: Login to your Paypal account and click on the “Send Money” tab Enter as the recipient. Enter your total entry fees in US dollars. Click on the PERSONAL tab and choose “Payment Owed” IF you are funding your payment as an instant transfer from a confirmed bank account attached to your Paypal account, there will be no Paypal fee charged to you or to WWWA. IF you are funding your payment with a credit or debit card, you MUST check off the box agreeing to pay the fee. If you choose a payment method that charges WWWA a Paypal fee, the FTS will reject your payment and you will have to try again! Your entries MUST be submitted on official ASFA entry forms. You may use your own pre-filled official ASFA entry forms, the generic MS Word or PDF versions available on the ASFA website ( or the the entry form available in the premium list. your completed entry forms and any required documents (e.g. certification/waiver forms and registration papers for FTEs) to Your entries MUST: Be sent AFTER payment is completed per instructions above. Contain an original signature (NOT a typed signature in lieu of original) Be accompanied by all associated paperwork (e.g. certification forms/waivers and AKC registration for FTEs) Be submitted on official ASFA entry forms Be ed with a date/time stamp before the Early Entry deadline (6:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011). Receipt of all electronic entries WILL be acknowledged by the FTS. Sorry, electronic payment is for early entries only. We cannot accept credit card payments the day of the trial. Questions? The course will be reversed for finals and again for run-offs or at the discretion of the judges.  Potluck There will be a potluck lunch both days. Please bring a dish to share. We will offer prizes for best dish, so make ‘em good ones! Water and shade are available on site. The closest restaurants are approximately 10 miles from the field. Accommodations Camping (no hookups) is allowed on the field at no charge. Directions from the field: Turn right on 8th Ave. Go 5 miles and turn right on WA-507. Go approximately 1 mile and turn left on WA-7. Go 5.2 miles and take WA-512 onramp westbound towards Tacoma. Go 2.5 miles and turn right on S. Tacoma Way. Go 2.8 miles and turn left on S. 58th St. Go .1 miles and turn right on Durango. Go .1 miles and look for clinic. Hours: 24 hour emergency care. NOTE: Electronic entries are optional. You are always welcome to send entries the old fashioned way (snail mail with check enclosed)!
