7 Part I: What? So What? How have you used your gifts and talents to give back to the community and society? During my semester in Madrid, I got involved in a local church. While attending, I volunteered weekly in the worship band, leveraging my musical gifts. Once back on campus in Cincinnati, I continued to give back by volunteering with Matthew 25 Ministries as well as participating in other service events such as Clean Up Cincy and Relay for Life. What is one thing you would change about this year? Why? One thing I would change about this year would be the beginning of my study abroad experience. I left Cincinnati and arrived in Madrid alone and had to establish myself there. It took me a few days to get settled and was a difficult adjustment before flying to Italy and traveling with my girlfriend. If I were to do it over again, I would have only dropped my bags at my apartment and traveled instead of giving myself almost an entire week in Madrid, where the weather was nearly 100 degrees every day and I knew absolutely no one.

8 Part II: Now What? What piece of advice would you like to give yourself as you prepare for the upcoming year? With my final year on the horizon, I would encourage myself to take time to slow down and enjoy it. Enjoy the friendships, make great memories, and do not get hung up on my grades (which I have a tendency to do). As I head into my summer internship, I would tell myself to put my head down, power through, and learn as much as possible. What is at least one goal that you have set for yourself for the upcoming year? One goal I have set for myself is to secure a full-time job offer with the company I am interning for this summer. How will you use your gifts and talents to give back to the community and society? I will continue to be involved in local community service projects and plan to get involved with my new church’s worship band.
