2 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Anand Milk Union Limited popularly known as Amul Dairy is a US $ 500million turnover institution. It is a institution built up with a network of over 10,000 Village Co-operative Societies and 500,000 Plus members. Formed in the year 1946 Amul is the leading food brand in India. AMUL has spurred the WHITE REVOLUTION of India, which has made India the largest producer of milk and milk products in the world and the WHITE REVOLUTION has finally created a billion dollar brand. Today AMUL dairy is no. 1 in ASIA and no.2 in the world.

Former chairman of the GCMMF, is recognized as a key person behind the success of Amul The system succeeded mainly because it provides an assured market at remunerative prices for producers' milk besides acting as a channel to market the production enhancement package. What's more, it does not disturb the agro-system of the farmers.
