What Is Fraction? When an object is divided into a number of equal parts then each part is called a fraction. There are different ways of writing a fraction. For example, two fifths of an object can be written as a decimal 0.4 a percentage 40% Quit

How Many Types Of Fraction’s are There?
There are 3 different types of fractions: Proper Fractions Numerator < Denominator Proper fractions have the nominator part smaller than the denominator part, Improper Fractions Numerator > Denominator or Numerator = Denominator, Improper fractions have the nominator part greater or equal to the denominator part, Mixed Fractions Mixed fractions have a whole number plus a fraction, for example Quit

Proper fraction A fraction that is less than one, with the numerator less than the denominator. For example. Quit

Improper Fraction a fraction in which the numerator is greater than the denominator, such as 5/4. For example… Quit

Mixed Fraction A mixed fraction is a whole number and a fractioncombined into one "mixed" number. Example: 1½ (one and a half) is a mixed fraction. (Also called a Mixed Number) For example… Quit

Adding Fractions Steps
Step One) Make sure the bottom numbers are the same by finding a common denominator. Step Two) Add the numerators (top numbers). Put your answer over the common denominator you found in step one. Step Three) Simplify the fraction if needed. Quit

Subtracting Fractions Steps
Step One) Make sure the bottom numbers are the same by finding a common denominator. Step Two) Subtract the top numbers Put the answer over the denominator you found in step one. Step Three) Simplify the fraction if needed. Quit

Multiplying Fractions Steps
Step One) Multiply the top numbers. Step Two) Multiply the bottom numbers. Step Three) Simplify if needed. Quit

Dividing Fractions Steps
Step One) Find the reciprocal by flipping the fraction you are dividing by. Step Two) Change division symbol to the multiplication symbol. Step Three) Use multiplying fractions steps to finish. Quit
