SECTION 3.7 NIV

MAIN IDEA Jesus Christ is the foundation of our faith. When we understand who He is, we learn how utterly helpless we are on our own. We can choose to accept the gift of salvation through Him and can then learn how to live a life of love and grace to others by following Christ’s example. NIV

MEMORY VERSES HEBREWS 1:3 The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. NIV

MEMORY VERSES JOHN 1:14 The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. NIV

MEMORY VERSES 1 PETER 2:24 He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed. NIV

MEMORY VERSES 1 CORINTHIANS 15:19-20 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. NIV

MEMORY VERSES EPHESIANS 5:1-2 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. NIV

MEMORY VERSES 1 CORINTHIANS 1:3-4 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I always thank God for you because of His grace given you in Christ Jesus. NIV

MAIN LESSON 1. The foundation of our faith is that Jesus is both fully God and fully man. Because He is fully God, He is perfect and sinless. Because He is fully man, He experienced death and became the perfect, and only, sacrifice for our sin. NIV

MAIN LESSON 2. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, He offers grace, forgiveness, and eternal hope to all who trust Him as Savior. NIV

MAIN LESSON 1 Peter 2:24 He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed. NIV

MAIN LESSON 3. We should treat others with the same grace that Jesus gave us even though none of us deserve it. NIV

FAITH IN ACTION 1. The most important decision you can make is whether or not to trust that Jesus Christ died on the cross and took the punishment for your sin. If there is anyone here who has questions about this, please talk to a leader before you leave. NIV

FAITH IN ACTION 2. If you have already trusted Christ as your Savior, is there anyone this week that you can share with about Jesus dying on the cross for our sins? NIV
