1 Analysis of 3 Film Trailers
Chris Russell

2 Fight Club 1999 The first thing I notice about the Trailer Fight Club is the eerie almost dark music this creates an effect of doom and gloom as if something bad is going to happen already. The first thing which you get to see as well are the 2 main characters in a car park in the dark and then he says, “I want you to hit me as hard as you can”. This is a bit of a strange thing and so this gives me an impression that this movie isn't going to have a simple plot, this is also backed up by the cartoon of the synapses in the brain denoting that is has got something to do with the brain.

3 It is clear to me from the trailer that he has a boring life and so he wants to find away out from it and then he meets Brad Pitt and then his life is changed. Before he meets Brad Pitt the trailer makes it out to me that he is very introverted such as being bossed around by his job and going to see the doctors, but after they meet this changes he gets involved in fights as you can see him fighting with Brad Pitt and he says, “I was on the tip of everyone's tongues”. The majority of the trailer is also filmed in the dark and in sets which look creepy such as in the basement where you can see the pipes, this helps to build the sense that it is sort of a secret club which they have going on which is further backed up by when he says, “One rule, do not tell anyone about Fight Club”.

4 8 Mile 2002 The first thing which I notice is that it is set in a very poor area, this is obviously visible by the demolished buildings, and the fact that his mother does not have a job and neither does her boyfriend. From this trailer it makes it look that Rabbit does not want to be where he is this is because it says he has been fired from a Pizza Job, and he turns up late once more and his boss say, “If your late one more time your fired”. It make me thing that this movie is one about escaping from where he live and his present life.

5 The most overwhelming factor which strikes me out of the whole movie is that everyone is trying to make it into the music business and trying to get out of this area. I say this because Rabbits girlfriend says to him, “I’m saving up enough cash to get out of here” and so she must be telling him because she wants him to come with her. One of Rabbits friend who is also a rapper says to him, “I’m getting out of here and taking you with me”. So this makes me think that everything which happens in this movie is because of the fact that he wants to try and break out of the world where he is living and get into mainstream music.

6 Never Back Down 2008 The Trailer is an immediate hit with me, this is down to the fact that the music and the bright lights at the start attract me to it and makes me want to see more. We then get to see some fighting and from here I am hooked, people my age are clearly the target audience for this film. He is new boy and moves to a new school where he gets invited to a party the first day he goes, its almost to good to be true. But he turns up to the party and then he gets beaten up.

7 We then see one of his friends also get beaten up by the same guy
We then see one of his friends also get beaten up by the same guy. This spurs him onto joining a club and then from here on it the plot is simple he beats up the guy and wins the girl. Through the whole trailer there are scenes of fighting and semi nude woman, so this denotes that there could be some sexual scenes in this movie. They also go to College in the US and so they are just a few years older than us but you can see very expensive houses and cars with no adult supervision and so you can sort of guess that there is going to be some trouble going to happen i.e. A fight.
