Prescription Drugs Avoid problems by:
Taking any current medications to doctor’s appointment to see how they might interact with other medications Check with doctor before opening capsules or crushing tablets Ask about food interactions Never drink alcohol or hot beverages when you take medication Watch for signs of allergic reaction

Brand Name vs. Generic Medication
Generic drug is chemically equivalent to drug it is substituting (also called bioequivalent) Must be FDA approved Less expensive Fillers and binders differ from brand-name drugs (can affect how quickly they’re absorbed and some are allergic to binders)

Health Fraud Promise a quick cure Diagnose a problem by mail
Change office locations or mailing addresses often Try to sell you one product to cure everything Say a product will cure a condition for which no cure exists (AIDS)
