2 What is Childhood Obesity?
Childhood Obesity is a trending health issue that is a growing epidemic. If a child has a BMI of 95 percent or higher they are considered to be obese. It affects more than 30 percent of children, making it the most common chronic disease of childhood. This number has more than tripled since the 1980’s.

4 Who does this affect? Children Parents Anyone in a low income area

5 Solution Education- educate yourself and others on the benefit of exercise and nutrition Remove Temptations- get rid of junk foods in the house Check Ups- take your child and yourself to the doctors Seasonal- eat whatever is in season to cut down on the costs of fruits and vegetables Get Active- Encourage your child and yourself to do any type of outdoor activity for mins everyday
