2 United Kingdom’s Flag

3 People Population is 60.975 million. The major ethnic groups are:
British, Irish, west Indian, south Asian. The major religions are: Church of England (Anglican), roman catholic, church of Scotland (Presbyterian), Muslim. The major languages are: English, welsh, Irish Gaelic, Scottish Gaelic.

4 Geography 243,000 sq. Km (90,000 sq. Mi.). Capital is London (population about 7.56 million). Generally mild and temperate. Weather is subject to frequent change. But to few extremes of temperature. Only 35 km from France. Linked by a tunnel under the English channel.

5 Map of the UK The UK is composed of four constituent parts:
England, Scotland, and Wales on island of Great Britain And Northern Ireland on the island of Ireland.

6 Government Constitutional monarchy and parliamentary democracy.
They have a queen and a parliament. The House of Lords and the House of Commons. Their constitution is unwritten, partly statutes. Partly common law and practice.

7 The Handshake The most common form of greeting.
Among the British and English. Customary when you are introducing somebody new. A firm handshake is given to both men and women. Smile and maintain good eye contact.

8 Dress For Work (for guys)
A tie is required for all guys. Top button of shirt must be done up. Plain dark suits are the best option. But and good quality suit is suitable. In the finance industry or management A pinstripe is a good choice. Clean, white and well pressed shirts.

9 Dress for Work Cont. Shirt should be doubled cuffed
And worn with cufflinks. The bottoms should match the jacket. Socks should be same color as your jacket. Mid-calf length, no patterns or pictures. Black leather lace up shoes.

10 Dress for Work. (for women)
Clean, white and well pressed shirt. A suit skirt should match the jacket. At least knee length. Trousers should be tailored with creases. Black, gray, navy, brown or khakis. The shoe should be closed toe and low heel.

11 Table Manners and Etiquette
Everyone is expected to eat properly. With knife and fork. If you are a guest, wait until your host starts eating to eating. Always chew and swallow all food before getting more. Always say thank you when served something. Never lick or put your knife in your mouth. Never take food from your neighbors’ plate.
