JABBERWOCKY Modern Translation Of the Famous Poem By Lewis Carroll

2 ‘Twas dinnertime and the slimy badger did circle and burrow in the earth. All scrawny were the do-do birds, and the green pigs outburst.

3 Beware the Jabberwock my son, with jaws that bite, and claws that catch. Beware the do-do bird, and banish the terrible bandersnatch.

4 He took his faithful sword in hand. Long time the vicious foe he sought.

5 So rested he by the Black Pearl’s keeve and stood awhile in thought.

6 BUT! As in fearful thought he stood, the Jabberwock with eyes of flame, came creeping through the open sea, and mumbled as it came.

7 ONE TWO. ONE TWO. AND THROUGH. AND THROUGH
ONE TWO! ONE TWO! AND THROUGH! AND THROUGH! The faithful blade went snicker-snack!

8 He left it dead, and with its head, he went galloping back.

9 Hast thou slain the Jabberwock. COME TO ME ARMS ME BEAMISH BOY
Hast thou slain the Jabberwock? COME TO ME ARMS ME BEAMISH BOY! O JOYOUS DAY! HIP, HIP HOORAY! He chortled in his joy.

10 ‘Twas brillig and the slithy tove did gyre and gimble in the wabe
‘Twas brillig and the slithy tove did gyre and gimble in the wabe. All mimsy were the borogoves, and the mome raths outgrabe.
