1 Lord of the Flies – Chapter 5 Questions Complete the questions in complete sentences in your writer’s notebook – Due Wed 2/3 1.Identify the important points Ralph talks about at the assembly. 2.The Beast – Describe how each of the characters talk about/refer to the beast. Look for direct quotes to support each character. (Ralph, Simon, Piggy, Jack) 3. What is revealed about Simon at the assembly? 4. Finally, Ralph says, “Things are breaking up… We began well; we were happy. And then—” What are some of the signs that the boys are “breaking up”?   5. Why do you think Percival Wemys Madison, when spoken to, chants his address? 6. Reread the last scene with Piggy, Ralph and Simon. Summarize it.
