5 Domestication Definition: to tame (an animal), esp. by generations of breeding, to live in close association with human beings as a pet or work animal and usually creating a dependency so that the animal loses its ability to live in the wild Plants: To adapt plants in order to be raised and be beneficial for humans

Domestication began 10,000 years ago in an area known as the Fertile Crescent Early plants were wheat, barley and lentils (beans) Early animals were dogs, goats and sheep
