2 Background Stem Cells are found in large organisms. They are special because they can become other types of cells through their division. Research started due to findings by Ernest A. McCulloch and James E. Till in the 1960s (“Stem Cell”).

4 Reasons for Research The potential exists to be the cure for several diseases, including blindness, deafness, and several types of cancer ("Update: Stem-Cell Research"). Eggs and sperm could be donated a little cost through IVF clinics at the owner’s consent (“Stem Cell”).
