Make sure you grab the handouts that are on the table by the door. Please pardon the mess, the marching band will be out of the way soon ;) Welcome Parents!

2 Spring Trip 2016 Walt Disney World

3 Music is a universal language that can be shared with the world
There are unique audiences and venues where students can perform that will allow them to go to places they might not go otherwise They get the “star” treatment, putting on a performance like a true professional Students will make memories with their bandmates that will last a lifetime Why take a spring trip?

4 Disney World – What’s Included
3 Day Park Hopper (Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot) 2 Nights in the Pop Century Hotel including transportation to and from the parks Parade Performance “You’re Instrumental” Recording Session/Clinic OR “Auxilliartion” Color Guard Clinic Private Group Dinner at Epcot with a Private Viewing of Illumination Fireworks 8x10 Group Photograph (optional) Transportation, Tolls, & Driver Tips – Miller Transportation Disney World – What’s Included

5 Clinics “You’re Instrumenta” “Auxilliration”
Students go backstage into a Disney recording studio A Disney Musician takes them through several Disney tunes At the end, they record one with the animation Example – “Tarzan” “Auxilliration” The color guard goes backstage and works with a guard specialist They learn a routine and hang out with Disney characters Clinics

6 Itinerary Friday Saturday
7pm – meet at NOHS (students should go home after school, eat dinner, and shower, before returning.) If possible, they should be dropped off (so their cars aren’t left at NOHS the whole trip.) 7:30pm – leave for Orlando Saturday 11am – Approximate arrival in Orlando. Unload the busses, get into chaperone groups, and head to the parks Itinerary

7 Itinerary Sunday Monday
9am – “You’re Instrumental” and “Auxilliration” Workshops 11:30am – Meet Chaperones and spent time in the parks Monday Parade Performance, Dinner and Private Fireworks Viewing (Time TBA) 11pm – Load busses and head home Itinerary

8 Tuesday 2:30pm – Approximate return back to NOHS NOTE: Students will miss 2 days of school. This has been approved by Mr. Wallace Itinerary

9 Quoted Cost 50 Guests - $649 a person 60 Guests - $771 a person
The cost will vary depending on how many people attend – the more bus seats we fill, the cheaper the trip will be. Quoted Cost

10 Portions of Fundraising Profits will go towards the trip
Profits are distributed EVENLY among ALL STUDENTS attending the trip In the past 4 years, we have taken anywhere between $80-$150 off of everyone’s trip thanks to fundraising Scholarships Scholarships are available through the band boosters Please contact Tonya Schiess or Kimberly Culler at the addresses on the handout If you have interest in sponsoring a student, please contact them as well Assistance with Cost

11 Payment Schedule Sept 30th - $100 Deposit and Permission Slip Due
Oct. 30th - $100 Due Nov. 30th - $100 Due Jan. - $100 Due Feb. - $100 Due March 30th – Remaining Balance Participants have until March 15th to cancel their participation. Everything but the deposit will be refunded if they cancel before March 15th. Payment Schedule

12 Because of the Parade Performance, all students need to learn the basics of marching in a parade block (forward, basic turns) Tuesday April 11 4:15-6:15 Tuesday April 18 4:15-6:15 Thursday May 11 4:15-6:15 All students will learn the music in class and perform it on the Prism Concert Rehearsals
