9 Year 5 Year 5 is taught in two classes. The morning sessions are devoted mostly to Mathematics and English where practicable. We will be teaching skills in Literacy and Numeracy from the Welsh Programme of Study/LNF. A Science Week will be held each term. Sport and Music Specialists Swimming, Autumn Term – Tuesdays, 9.00am – Goggles, T-shirt, appropriate swimming costume, towel, swimming hat for those with longer than shoulder length hair).

17 Transition with TCS Transition between Ton Pentre Junior School and Treorchy Comprehensive School is acknowledged as best practice. Throughout Year 5, pupils participate in Welsh and experience lessons with staff from the Comprehensive School. Pupils participate in assessment activities devised in collaboration with the comprehensive school and ourselves.

21 Technology Digital Competency Framework. Hwb.
The School Moodle is an information point for all parents. Websites which allow children to consolidate IT, Literacy and Numeracy, Science and Welsh language skills. ICT is used extensively within curriculum lessons and extra-curricular clubs. Investment in IT - i-pads, digital cameras, laptops and C-Touch interactive boards help to support learning – Professor Donaldson curriculum – 6 areas of learning.

Statutory Testing - National Numeracy and Literacy Tests 3rd – 5th May, 2017 Please try not to book holidays until all tests and assessments have been completed.
