Home Learning – your feedback
2
In a recent survey, we asked you… “Do you understand the importance of home learning in helping you succeed?”
3
Why do home learning?
4
Why? The research says that pupils who regularly do high quality home learning make 5 extra months of progress every year. Our own school data shows that those pupils who regularly do their home learning make better progress than those who don’t. As well as helping you succeed at school, home learning prepares you for life after school by developing your skills in independent learning, problem solving, time management and perseverance.
5
We asked you… “Do you feel that the home learning you’re set is too hard, about right or too easy?”
6
We asked you… “How long do you spend on home learning on an average day?”
The research says that between 1 hour (for Years 7-8) and 2 hours (for Year 11) of home learning each night leads to maximum progress.
7
We asked you… “If you find a piece of HL too difficult, what do you do
