CORE Education running nationwide 36 workshops: from the 25 May - July 2017
10 additional workshops have been added and are currently being scheduled
Recruitment of 24 Curriculum Champions has begun. Appointments will be made in June 2017, curriculum inquiry networks set up July 2017 – June 2018

10. Working with ERO to strengthen practice
Series of iterative evaluations in 2017 and 2018
2017 – to look at initial awareness of, and engagement with, the updated Te Whāriki, how it is being considered or used to make changes to the review and design of the curriculum.
2018 – look at how services are using available resources to enable them to implement the curriculum, and the impact of this on kaiako understanding and development of rich local curriculum.

11. Working with ITE Providers and the Education Council
The Education Council expects that all ITE providers will use the updated curriculum document in its programmes
ITE briefings are being held across three locations (Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch)

12. Assessment
Assessment makes valued learning visible. Kaiako use assessment to find out about what children know and can do, what interests them, how they are progressing, what new learning opportunities are suggested, and where additional support may be required (p.63).
