Schedule a campus visit at least two weeks in advance for large public universities!
Counselor will set up visit
RHS allows seniors to take two days.
Juniors may take one day.

Apply for admission
Fees vary from $0 to $200
Apply to your top 3-4 schools
If you are sure of your choice, apply early (by October 1)
Remember: Only a college or university will require an ACT!

Public University Admission requirements:
Qualified Admission curriculum with a “C”
average AND one of the following:
Top 1/3 of class in GPA OR
ACT of 21 or higher(KU-3.25 GPA)
What if I don’t meet any of those requirements?
Apply early in senior year(10% window) or
Consider starting at a Community
College, then transfer

Most won’t consider you for scholarships until you apply for admission
Send your transcripts & ACT scores to schools when you apply for admission.

ACT online Prep & booklet - Free for

KSU & WSU offer a prep session each spring for 10th & 11th graders

29. Testing - SAT SAT I & SAT II - Required by some schools out-of-state
SAT I - verbal and math test
SAT II - subject tests - Biology, German, English etc.
Either the SAT or ACT is required for acceptance into any four year college in Kansas

College credit is based on the amount of seat time for one class during one week. A three credit hour class may meet from 9-9:50am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the semester
