10 Language Form Examples: There are two chairs in the bedroom.
There is a table in the bedroom. ______________ a big window. ______________ five pictures on the walls.

11 Language Focus: 1. We use the form THERE IS to express existence, with singular objects. Example: There´s a garden in my house. With negative sentences we add NOT. Example: There isn´t a zoo in Arica. 2. To express existence in plural sentences, we use THERE ARE and the number of objects or some when we don´t know the number. Example: There are two girls in the park. There are some dogs in the park.

12 Example: There aren´t any trees in your garden.
With negative sentences, we add NOT and ANY to emphasise the absence, with PLURAL nouns (sustantivos). Example: There aren´t any trees in your garden. There aren´t any chairs in the classroom. Let´s practice

13 Remember: Affirmative Negative Singular Plural 1.- In questions Singular we use: Is there a / one… ? Example: Is there a tree in your garden? 2.- In questions Plural we use: Are there any… ? Example: Are there any flowers in your garden?
