Identifying/Reading the Play Dressing appropriately Setting up an audition time Getting to the audition early Making note of any audition specifications Checking in Warming up before the audition Choosing a monologue based on the play’s information Audition!! Say thank you! Preparing the monologue Verifying the time/place of audition Verifying resume/headshots are current

3 Some things to consider:
If the director doesn’t know what an actor can do, the audition process can be very useful An actor has control over their audition process but little else. That means they should do everything possible to do their best at the audition It’s the job of the actor to show the director they can play a certain role A director is looking at the big picture. They are not just looking at talent- they are looking at putting together a team who will work together to achieve a common goal
