3. The Strategy Based upon HL7 International Education Strategy
Objectives:
To provide quality education to meet workplace needs;
To build the reputation and membership of HL7, showing leadership in education and professional quality assurance.
To expand the knowledge of the value of HL7 publications and organisation within the health community.
Articulate the need to employ people with demonstrable HL7 skills and why these skills should be demanded by the industry.
Articulate the HL7 skills required to meet specific HL7 standard implementation
Support the financial viability of HL7 Australia
Industry needs to be aware of the advances and underpinning standards of health information and systems for information exchange, and be able to effectively contribute to and influence those standards.
Individuals need to know the value of HL7 education and it needs to be a priority for them.
HL7 should be the consistent source of quality assured competency in the international community
Educators and educational organisations need to be encouraged to provide quality education
The strategy is needed to support HL7 Australia's leadership image.
Employers need to know what skills (including the level of skill) is needed for a given job and that the people they employ are competent in those skills.
