Nivedita Mission and Vision
Provide opportunities for physically disabled and destitute girls to become financially independent and integrated into society Offer unique individualized programs for the girls with goals to: build self esteem provide education/vocational skills Give the child a home

History 1998 Nivedita Center for Learning registered in the US as a not-for-profit organization 2000 Nivedita Chartable Trust Registered Trust in India MOU with LCME to use their property in Injambakkam for our home completely renovated property including: Wheel chair accessible front gate and walkway Handicap accessible bathrooms Inaugurated project

History 2001 First two inmates admission
School admission at Pon Vidyashram CBSE school Initiation of Learning Center- FREE after school tuition program for local girls from the Injambakkam slums Obtained grant and renovated handicap accessible kitchen and wash area

History 2002 5 girls admitted to residential program and 12 children entered the Learning Center Complete infrastructure for home and learning center donated through Rotary Grant Opened Shyam Sundar Girls Park 2003 TOTAL - 7 girls admitted to residential program and 18 entered the Learning Center

Nivedita Programs: Daily Life Program
Establish and maintain a routine to develop Self-discipline Independence Sense of order Stability. The Daily Life Program is designed to enable the girls to (read above ). The girls we are targeting are severely lacking in self confidence and we are hoping that this part of the program will give them small successes which they will need to boost their self esteem and create a sense of belonging. Nivedita Programs: Daily Life Program
Assist in the acquisition of basic life skills including: self-care home management financial management community services spiritual practice We believe that these basic life skills are the core of the program which helps develop the Whole individual. Without these skills the other programs can not be a success.

Academic Projects GRAMMAR- Flash grammar quiz program to improve spoken and written English skills MATHS- Minute math competition to enhance basic mathematic skills FESTIVALS – children have special projects in which they learn and embrace various religions and customs
