“I AM,” “I THINK”, “I FEEL” QUOTE:” Men are not prisoners of fate but only prisoners of their own mind ”.Roosevelt I think we should always have the right perception for better decisions in life

5 beliefs Something believed
An opinion or conviction,eg the earth is flat Confident in the truth or existence of something even when not subjected to rigorous proof Confidence,faith,,trust,eg a child’s belief in his parents Sometime a religious tenet, creed or faith

6 VALUES IDEALS,CUSTOMS,INSTITUTION MIGHT BE POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE
Eg positive:cleanliness,freedom,education,money,happines s,love,friendship,carefulness etc Negative:cruelty,crime,drunkeness,recklessness, careless living etc

7 What do you believe in?what do you value?
YOU-FIRST!!!!! YOUR VALUE ,your believe Write down some things you value Do you believe in hard-work or luck? Are there models you admire? What did they value? Did they work to uphold their value? What made them famous or prominent personalities?

8 Perception Sense of cognition,understanding,intuition,psychological , aesthetic qualities, mind-image, insight, discernment Perception is how one sees things and forms a mind –set on the object in question

9 HABITS It is an acquired behaviour pattern regularly followed until it becomes almost involuntary eg crossing the leg,piking nose,bending while walking,clearing throat,looking at the sky etc It could be customary habit eg saying “goodmorning”,shaking hands,hugging,peking etc Addiction(negative),eg smoking, narcotics/drugs, drinking etc

Manner,disposition,feeling,position with regard to a person or thing Tendency or orientation especially of mind Expression of action either a threatening or relaxed attitude OUTWARD DISPLAY OF FEELING BY ACTION OR BEHAVIOURR

It is good to discover (i) what you are very good at doing (ii) what you enjoy doing (ii) what makes you happy will lead to life fulfillment and give you success-rest of mind(if positive) What do you value? People/materials,work/rest,happiness,peace,money,res pect,music,fashion,neat environment,quietness??? Lets play a game of self Discovery-JOHARI WINDOW

20 Forming a consensus A paradigm shift is radical change in underlying belief or theory-it reflects in your actions Are there things you need to change attitudes towards? Are there habits you need to change? Are there beliefs you need to shift?-eg interests,habits,values,customs,traditions. Metamorphosis e.g the caterpillar

25 How to set goals-TARGETS
Step-create your big picture-your dreams say in the next 10years Step 2-break it down in years,eg in 2years,3years ,5years Step 3-break it into months,then weeks,then daily Step4-start working on it immediately

26 Further tips State goals in positive statements
If you have many goals ,prioritize them-set priorities. Always write goals down-in black and white Don’t put easy-to-achieve goals eg to participate in exam,rather say –to get 4.5GPA at end of this semester

my Career-to become a managing editor of a publishing firm In 5years –become deputy editor In 1 year-volunteer in any area the MD is heading up In 6months-get a certificate to enhance my publishing skills In 1 month- ask questions to determine what skills I require In 1 week-book a meeting with current MD.

28 Schedule regular maintenance • Understand the basics of how the your system works so you’ll know when it isn’t • Organize the information about your system • Learn how to maximize the efficiency of your system • Perform a periodic inventory of yourself to ensure you are following your goal(s)
