36 percent of family planning users in Kenya discontinue using the method within 12 months of starting its use. Discontinuation rates are highest for users of condoms (59 percent) and the pill (43 percent) and lowest for injectables (29 percent)

6 Unmet need for FP Unmet need – the woman does not intend to get pregnant but is not on any FP method 25% of currently married women in Kenya have an unmet need for family planning, which remains unchanged since 2003

This refers to structured sessions and does not include individual instruction received during routine supervision. 3 A facility has routine staff supervision if at least half of interviewed providers reported that they had been personally supervised at least once during the six months preceding the survey.
