The House of God The right kind of material must be used in it’s construction. What makes these building materials the right kind?

Shifts from the foundation to what’s built upon the foundation, the congregation

13 The Word of Truth is the Gospel.
The requirements to be included in the House of God is first to hear the Word of Truth. The Word of Truth is the Gospel.

14 “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise” Ephesians 1:13

15 These are non-negotiable for inclusion in the House of God.
The requirement to be included in the House of God is then to trust in that Gospel. These are non-negotiable for inclusion in the House of God.

17 “ye were sealed” – to be stamped, imprinted,
embossed for the purpose of authentication of genuineness.

18 “with that holy Spirit” – The Holy Spirit is the seal, the authentication of genuineness.

19 “of promise” – A seal that was promised in the past.
A seal that contains a promise for the future.

20 “Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:14

21 “Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:14

22 “earnest” – A pledge, a paying of part and promising to pay in full, thus ratifying a contract.

23 “inheritance” – an apportionment, that is, something portioned out
“inheritance” – an apportionment, that is, something portioned out. Speaks of the fact that an apportionment has been made.

24 The seal of the Holy Spirit is the pledge of the fact of an apportionment, the fact of an apportionment of us. This implies a promise.

25 “Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:14

26 “redemption” – release from bonds by payment, ransom.
“the purchased possession” – made around, enclosed. Not only possessed, but protected.

27 The seal of the Holy Spirit is the pledge of the future release from the bonds of this flesh and it’s constant vulnerability to sin.

28 “Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:14

29 The day of redemption is drawing near.
What kind of day will that be will be determined by you. What kind of day will you have?
