Chromosome: a cell structure that contains genetic information along strands of DNA
DNA Fingerprint: pattern of DNA fragments (also called DNA profiling)
DNA probe: a molecule used to locate a particular sequence or gene on a DNA molecule
Gene: segment of DNA in a chromosome that contains information used to produce a protein
Restriction enzyme: a molecule that cuts a DNA molecule at a specific base sequence

3. Read p158: DNA Fingerprinting and Family Relationships
In the case described in this scenario, Andrew’s DNA would not be a perfect match with his mother Christiana. Because each person inherits half of his or her DNA from each parent, only half of Andrew’s DNA fingerprint would be an exact match with Christiana’s DNA.
Is that still enough to prove, beyond a doubt, that Andrew is Christiana’s son?
