Bow-to-Stern Rocker Shape
Rocker is the amount of curvature in the bottom of the hull from bow to stern.
A rockered boat is easier to turn and maneuver but harder to paddle in a straight line.

A flat boat (no rocker) is stable and buoyant but difficult to turn.
With longer, narrower, and flatter boats, the stroke-to-glide efficiency typically increases.
