We will be responsible for our learning and behaviors. We will respect others and ourselves. We will respect the school and school property. We will treat others the way we want to be treated.

7 HOMEWORK Reinforces class instruction and fosters more independent learning Frequency: Monday through Thursday; there may be reading assigned over the weekend; unfinished class work to be completed, if necessary Structured for independent completion Fosters development of time management

8 HOMEWORK, con’td. Each night, please initial your child’s planner

The work is due the next day with the note signed by a parent. Failure to complete more than three homework assignments in any given subject may affect the grade in that subject. As the year progresses, the student may also be required to miss a part of recess and safetying as a disciplinary action for failing to complete homework more than once.

9 HOMEWORK TIPS Go over homework with child if assistance is requested
Encourage independent completion of assignment(s) Homework difficulties? Please contact me.

A different reading log is given every few weeks with new tasks to accomplish We encourage you to read with your child each night and ask questions, have students retell the story, the author’s message, ask what the most important part of the story is, or ask what connection they’ve made to that story.
