3. The organization NFU is the largest farmers organization in Norway.
Founded in 1896.
Our main aim is to improve conditions in agricultural, and show how important agriculture is for the community.
We also work for the views of people who think growing food in Norway is important.
Everyone who supports our objective can become a member. A membership implies both rights and obligations.

4. The organization Local branches (520)
Local interest groups and constitute the main meeting ground for colleagues in the local farming sector
Engages and influences local authorities, especially in matters concerning land management and business development
Local annual meetings are open to all members and gives each member the right and possibility to influence the policies and workings of the organization

Promotes agriculture in the media
Active toward politicians, both MP’s and representatives for county based governments and party organizations.
