William Frederick Harris
Chosen to represent POW’s during the surrender of Japan, aboard the USS Missouri. Married in 1946, had two daughters Was recalled to active duty during the Korean War He was last seen on December 7, (MIA)

Mutsuhiro “The Bird” Watanabe
Listed as a defendant for prosecution of war crimes In 1952 Allies granted amnesty to war criminals. “The Bird” resurfaced and became a businessman. Died July 2003

Olympics Louie carried 5 Olympic torches in all.
The last probably being the most significant. Louie was selected to carry the Olympic Torch through Naoetsu – on its way to Nagano At age 81, Louie ran a kilometer His route took him past Camp 4 at the Naoetsu prison.

Louie Zamperini died, 70 years after the US mistakenly declared him dead, on July 2, 2014 in Los Angeles, California, he was 97 years old.
