2 Setting: Lunyanja Lunyanja is a village (population: 1600) situated in the SAGCOT Corridor, in Morogoro District Most of the inhabitants have smallholdings of between two and five acres on which they grow maize and beans. Women provide the farming labour. Men reap the lionshare of the income from it. The households also battle with malnutrion. The two main water sources are the Makeke River on the East and a poorly functioning water pump at the school. The produce from the village fields supplies the main market.
