The Value Analysis Program will provide resolution for existing and/or new product requests that could significantly increase financial liability to the organization; impact efforts to standardize product use and practice; identify conflicts of interest and vendor relationships with requestors; and affect a broad range of clinical areas with significant impact on patient quality and outcomes. Ultimately, product selection will be based on clinical evidence and recognized best practices to drive excellent outcomes. 15 Surgical Value Analysis New Product Request (NPR) Guidelines
1) All NPR’s must be completely filled out before it will be accepted for review. 2) All NPR’s are required to be reviewed & signed by department director. 3) All NPR’s need to be received in the VA mailbox no later than 14 days prior to the next committee meeting in order to be presented. 4) Requestors, be it physician or clinical staff, will be required to present at the committee meeting. 5) Emergency NPR’s will be determined by the department director and will need to follow all other guidelines as listed & would be presented at the following committee meeting. 6) All requests for evaluations, new products, services, and capital should go through the VA process. 7) Work groups, made up of clinicians, physicians & other appropriate members, will be by service line &/or ad hoc by project. Members will vote and decisions will be reported up to the appropriate committee. 8) All decisions ,may be appealed once per year through the appropriate committee.
