2 Why Urban Ag and Small Scale Farming?
As our population grows and farmland becomes more scarce and more fragmented smaller farms in rural and urban areas can offer diverse solutions and meet the demands of niche markets.

In the same way that we encourage small business and entrepreneurship in our state and in local communities, we need to support small farms and farmers in urban and rural areas.

12 Our Future As our population grows AGRICULTURE needs to have a place in the design & planning of our communities Initiate/encourage/support planning efforts in communities , just like we plan for schools, roads, residential areas. We should have some per capita planning goal for farmsland Funding for Conservation easements. Have funding available for e CE’s for farmers who want to preserve their farms and are willing to sacrifice windfall profits from development.
