Regional Consultation on Community Action for Health Deliberating Pathways to Scaling Up Guwahati, January 24-25, 2017

2 National level Developed a set of 4 television and radio spots on health entitlements under the National Health Mission Developed training manuals for Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Committee (VHSNC) and Planning and Monitoring Committee members on Community Action for Health (CAH) Developed the National Framework and Tools on Decentralized Participatory Health Planning with NHSRC and SATHI – roll out planned in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh Participated in the 10th Common Review Mission (CRM) in 5 states Developed a documentary film on averting maternal deaths

3 State level Madhya Pradesh
Jan Samwads organized in 5 districts Betul, Sidhi, Barwani, Chindwara and Bhind Public Service Monitoring Tool introduced in 46 districts across the state Uttarakhand CAH processes rolled out through the District ASHA Resource Center across 13 districts. State and district Training of Trainers (ToTs) organized Uttar Pradesh State level ToTs for VHSNC organized RKS baseline survey completed in Lucknow district Punjab: CAH process scaled up from 2 to 11 districts. State ToTs organized. Strengthening of VHSNC in progress

4 State level Odisha State and City Programme Management Unit staff and NGOs oriented on CAH processes. Community enquiry of health services initiated in urban areas in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack Bihar Jan Samwads organized in Darbhanga district. Nawada planned in February, 2017 State level VHSNC ToTs planned to be organized in February, 2017 Jharkhand Orientation of District Resource Persons done for 24 districts to strengthen the CAH process West Bengal Develop the curriculum for strengthening of VHSNC trainings. Pilot being rolled out through SEWA collectives in Murshidabad district

5 State level Assam CAH processes being implemented in 4000 VHSNC across 18 districts. Baseline survey on VHSNC and RKS functioning completed. VHSNC strengthening process in progress Meghalaya CAH processes being implemented in 3 districts- East and West Jainitia Hills, Garo Hills. Jan Samwads organized Mizoram CAH processes being implemented in Serchhip district Tripura Planning and Monitoring Committees constituted. State level workshop to be organized in February, CAH process to be initiated in Gomti district Sikkim Rapid assessment on functioning of VHSNC and RKS completed. Piloting strengthening of the RKS in STNM hospital

6 State level Assam Baseline survey of functioning of VHSNC and Rogi Kalyan Samities (RKS) completed. Data analysis is currently underway. State level Review and Planning meeting organised Organized meeting with the State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) to facilitate inclusion of health component in the Gram Panchayat Development Plans Sikkim Baseline survey of functioning of VHSNC and RKS completed Discussions initiated for strengthening of RKS Meghalaya Provided support in developing a detailed implementation plan as per State PIP approval Organized meetings with SIRD to facilitated of training of PRI members Mizoram

Process scaled up from 14 to 19 districts. Innovations on Decentralized Participatory Health Planning, Participatory audit of Rogi Kalyan Samities, youth collectives etc. Delhi Facilitated the State ToT for State PMU staff and District ASHA Coordinators Process of formation of Mahila Arogya Samiti (MAS) in progress Gujarat State level ToT planned to be organized to initiate process across 78 high priority blocks in February, 2017 Andhra Pradesh Organized a state consultative meeting with civil society organizations and networks to seek inputs on initiating CAH implementation Plan shared with the State Mission Director for initiating processes Telangana Organized meetings with the State NHM team for initiation of CAH processes Prepared and shared a plan for roll out of processes in 4 districts
