I will tear down my barns and build bigger barns. I will then bestow all my grain and goods in them I will say to myself – thou hast much goods laid up for many years – enjoy the fruits of your labor “take thy ease… eat, drink and be merry”

All preparations for self is for naught Soul required of thee tonight Someone else will have your goods (Eccl. 2:18-19) So focused on rich life that he has lost focus of real life (Psm. 39:6)

Jesus’ application: So is everyone who lays up treasure for self, and is not rich toward God (Lk. 12:21).

Jesus’ application: So is everyone who lays up treasure for self, and is not rich toward God (Lk. 12:21). Riches are a drawing power that can lead us away from God (I Tim. 6:9-10, Psm. 62:10)
