1 Self-Service Financial Aid Overview
Summer IIPS 2016

2 Financial Aid Setup

3 Setup Resource We used the Self-Service Financial Aid Implementation guide to setup the Financial Aid module. It’s available at NCLOR for download.

4 FCIB – FA Checklist Batch Run after importing ISIRs using the same savedlist in order to assign and update checklist items in FA Self-Service.

5 Appl Complete Date This field in FASI indicates to FA Self-Service that a student has completed all of their application items and they are ready to review their awards in FA Self-Service.

6 RLDE – Rule Definition Create the rule FAACDBSS to pull students who have a Financial Aid file complete date. The CS.YEAR will need to be updated when the FA Year changes.

7 RLPC – Process with Rule
2016 RLPC – Process with Rule Create a saved list using the rule created above on RLDE. This year will need to be updated as the year changes, also.

12 Student View Students will access Financial Aid From the Financial Aid Checklist link in WebAdvisor
Self-Service

13 Required Documents This student has submitted their FAFSA and now the Financial Aid office is requesting documents. If the student clicks on Complete required documents link, they can see what has been received and what needs to be submitted.

14 Completed Checklist This is what a student will see after their financial aid has been processed and awarded. To access their award letter, they will click Review and sign your Financial Aid Reward Letter

15 We’re not a loan school, so all of our aid is gifted
We’re not a loan school, so all of our aid is gifted. Because of this, our student’s don’t have to “accept” or sign an award letter. In our case, this is just for their review. Idea – This is a request for an enhancement that would allow colleges to remove this component. Please consider promoting this on the Ellucian Hub.

16 SAP This is the view of a student’s Satisfactory Academic Progress
SAP This is the view of a student’s Satisfactory Academic Progress. Students can see the details of their progress where they haven’t been able to see them before.

17 Shopping Sheet Students also have access to their Shopping Sheets from within the Financial Aid module

18 Important Notes To Remember:
FA Self-Service is not exactly real-time, it is more of an overnight process unlike WebAdvisor. Some things require the Application Pools to be reset to take effect. Check your Rule Failure Messages on RLDE since this information is visible to students. Be sure to consider how your students are directed to FA Self-Service and provide appropriate instructions. Consider information that will be visible to students and be sure it is set-up and updated accordingly such as Satisfactory Academic Progress, Financial Aid Counselor information, Federal Shopping Sheet, Average Aid Package amounts, and Helpful Resource Links. Make sure your Self-Service Finaidcounselor roles and permissions are assigned correctly or some features will not be visible in Self-Service. Update your Financial Aid security class in WebAdvisor to include HWBFA Important Notes To Remember:
