Calibration meeting summary
Topics Archive access, interfaces, coding standards Calibration pipeline Intensity calibration Correction for geometric distortion
2
Archive access Archive is being changed from ftp to http access
Upload/download of software is done via cvs Standard data format is pds This will also be archived at the Planetary Science Archive Converters of xdr and fits format exist, but there will be only one calibration pipeline
3
Coding standards Programming language for calibration pipeline and analysis tools is IDL Official IDL Version changed to 6.1 Programs written in other languages can be included via DLMs Source code needs to be provided A standard header and some minimum error checking will be required for contributions Header template and tool for automatic creation will be provided by MPS MPS (SH) is going to distribute document about archive access and coding standards
4
Calibration pipeline Level 1 -> level 2 (raw data to radiometrically calibrated data) Everything is there, but needs improvement Level 2 -> level 3 (geometric distortion corrected) In preparation Level2 -> level 4 (Data converted to standard coordinate system) Will be included together with/after creation of level 3 data
5
Intensity calibration
Separate determinations by several people Disagreements mainly because of different input data (throughput of optics, CCD quantum efficiency) Will create common data base with best knowledge data Future calibrations Additional standard star observations Planetary targets (Jupiter!)
6
Geometric distortion Distortion known for both cameras
Correction algorithm developed at LAM Implementation into pipeline in preparation Should be common algorithm for both cameras
