2 A. What to expect Rules: No Food or drinks in the lab
Arrive to class on time Three late equals one cut Hand in assignments on time Be prepared (bring USB Drive) * The room has been remodeled through a grant. Take care of it.

3 A. What to expect Grading Policy:
Class Participation: 10% Digital Art is a performance-based course, all assignments must be completed in class. Participation includes performance on projects, class interaction, notebook, sketchbook, critique, do now activities, and punctuality. Classwork /Projects: 65% Creative solutions will lead to successful projects. In digital art, assignments are given to see what new and innovative ideas students can come up with. Having a great solution to solve a visual problem is just as important. Think out side of the box. Homework/Paper/Research/Prepared. 10% Students will work in their book everyday. They will be checked every Friday. (Aim and Do Nows – word document in their usb) Test and Quizzes: 15% Occasionally there will be a test or quiz. (Final not included)

7 B. Tentative Project Schedule
Year Overview Marking Period 1 Students will be introduced to basic Photoshop techniques such as, using the toolbar, navigating through the interface, and organizing within their assigned computers. Marking Period 2 Students will be introduced to the photography element of Digital Design II. There will be an overview on using the Digital camera(s) and their functions such as aperture, shutter speed, and lighting techniques. Additionally, students will develop more advance techniques in Photoshop.

8 B. Tentative Project Schedule
Year Overview Marking Period 3 Students will be introduced to advanced graphic/fine art applications through Digital media. The projects may include a focus on typography, graphic design, and/or photo manipulation, but are not limited to these subjects. Students will also utilize what they have learned from the previous marking periods and apply it to their projects. Marking Period 4 Students will be introduced to video production. They will learn about storyboarding, types of shots, and filming techniques. Students will learn concepts in editing and utilize video editing software such as iMovie to create a video.

Goals – 8 Projects _____TRANSFORMATION/SELECTION: A composition, which exhibits the exploration and range of transformation and selection tools and techniques. _____ LAYERS: A composition, which demonstrates the utilization of interacting images through the development and use of layers. _____ COLOR ADJUSTMENT: A composition, which shows and demonstrates the use and understanding of color tools, brushes, menus and techniques. _____ VIDEOGRAPHY: A compilation of footage that shows an understanding of concepts associated with video production and its various techniques. _____PHOTO RE-TOUCHING/ MANIPULATION: A composition, which exhibits the exploration of photo manipulations and retouching techniques through the use of specific tools and/or techniques. _____FILTERING APPLICATION: A composition, which demonstrates the utilization of filters, the filter gallery, and/or layer styles that interacting with image. _____TEACHERS CHOICE: Independent student projects, contests or assignments. May also be teacher directed assignment that uses specific techniques and/or tools other than those described above.
