An “almost” island.
Isthmus: A narrow strip of land connecting one land mass to another.
Agriculture: Farming of the land and having herd of animals.

3. Impede To stop or prohibit Promote: to allow or encourage
Mountains, seas, lakes, etc. can either impede or promote trading, exploring, and traveling.
