5 ALEKS Information for Students
ALEKS Placement, Preparation and Learning (ALEKS PPL) is a web-based application for math placement and course preparedness. It combines a research-based placement assessment with personalized learning tools to help students refresh on lost knowledge, ALEKS PPL gives students the opportunity to succeed before they begin class. Using PPL (placement, preparation, and learning) over remediation Changing wording on communications and websites to placement vs. Accuplacer or ALEKS ALEKS PPL subscription is valid for 1 year, includes 5 placement assessments, prep and learning for 6 months Must wait 48 hours and prepare for 5 hours in PPL between assessments Each placement is a unique 30 questions assessment, checking readiness for computational skills to Calculus One. Placement scores valid for 8 months
