5 PHILIPPIANS 1:3-5 [NIV] PHILIPPIANS 4:14-19 [RSV]
3 I thank my God every time I remember you. 4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now PHILIPPIANS 4:14-19 [RSV] 14 It was kind of you to share my trouble. 15 And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving except you only; 16 for even in Thessalonica you sent me help once and again. 17 Not that I seek the gift; but I seek the fruit which increases to your credit. 18 I have received full payment, and more; I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. 19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

6 PARTNERS IN THE GOSPEL Six Characteristics of a Church That Desires to Serve as Partners in the Gospel 1. 3. There is more Harmony. “… in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who being in the very nature God, did not count equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death—even death on a cross.” – Philippians 2:3-8

15 PARTNERS IN THE GOSPEL Partners Share the Benefits
4. There is more of God’s Blessing. “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (1:6) “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (4:19)
