1 Catechist Certification

2 The certification program is designed to include all the formational components that Jesus used to teach his Apostles in addition we added Scripture and Catechesis/Culture

3 The Systematic approach that we took when designing the certification process really emphasizes the building block/lifelong learner/conversion approach. As you can see form the diagram below, the certification process is based on a tiered approach.

4 Apprentice (The Foundation)
The Role of the Catechist Echoes of Faith 3.0 (online) – TODAY The Spirituality of a Catechist Joy of Being a Catechist Apprentice Form – DUE February 28th, 2017

5 Tier I EOFP 3.0 Twelve hours of Electives
Catechetics: Methodology Introduction to Scripture Introduction to the Catholic Creed Introduction to Liturgy and the Sacraments Introduction to Morality Introduction to Christian Prayer Twelve hours of Electives Tier I Form – DUE February 28th, 2018

6 Tier II A Formational/ Catholic Retreat experience.
Within the silence and beauty of a retreat center the following topics will be incorporated: Varieties of Catholic Prayer including Liturgy of the Hours and Lectio Divina Saints as Inspiration for Prayer Prayer and Contemplation The Person and Teachings of Jesus The Human need for Sabbath and Retreat Forming Habits for Spiritual Growth The retreat will usually be offered in an overnight format from 10:00AM to 4:00pm the next day. Occasionally it will be offered in a three day format from 9:00am to 3:00 pm each day Six hours of electives Tier II Form – DUE February 28th, 2019

Engaging Parents in their Child’s Catechesis I Overview of the New Testament Trinity Sacraments of Initiation Social Justice History of Christian Spirituality Twelve hours of Electives Tier IV Faith Growth in Persons with Developmental Disabilities Overview of the Old Testament The Four Marks of the Church Sacraments of Healing Moral Teachings on Human Sexuality Praying the Psalms Tier V Catechesis, Ecumenism and the Inter-Faith Dialogue The Gospels Communion of Saints and Resurrection of the Body Sacraments of Vocation Virtues Being a Leader of Prayer
