MQXC project over view -Coil manufacture for 3 apertures completed. -99% of components delivered for all 3 magnets. (We are only missing the half shells , which have been replaced by 4 rods for vertical test) -Magnet zero Warm field measurements very good result! Waiting for 1.9K test in SM18. (end May/ June). 14 Results from Warm Field measurements in yoked magnet zero
Magnetic measurements of the MQXC-1 show all together a very slightly improved field quality with respect to the collared coil. The mulitpole components at 27 mm reference radius are all below 1 unit in The effect of the iron yoke on the allowed multipoles is slightly lower than expected (-0.1 instead of units for the b6 and instead of for the b10). It will have to be seen if this is confirmed with the new and more appropriate search coil. The b6 component in the straight section is about 1 unit higher than expected, but in the right direction. The b6 could be further reduced by installing all the tuning rods. This would be useful also for the field quality at nominal excitation, because the saturation effect on the iron yoke is only of the order of 0.4 units. 17 Heat Extraction Cold Horizontal Testing
We plan to use a std.
