2 Tourism and culture have always been closely linked in Europe.
PLACES OF PEACE INTRODUCTION There’s all over the world cultural heritage linked to peace and, on the other and, cultural tourism has been one of types of tourism that as been growing very fast. Tourism and culture have always been closely linked in Europe.

3 PLACES OF PEACE BENEFITS  Sustainable development of the territory.
Active and dynamic participation of the local community and stakeholders – social cohesian and reborn sense of belonging. Added value and increased visibility for the involved territories. Positive impact in the heritage. Integration and development of synergies with other projects.

4 PLACES OF PEACE TO KEEP IN MIND  The Network will be what the partners will be able to do and that means the Network and the partners are one. The importance of consolidation but also is very important to continue growing in a sustainable way. New European frameworks for the support of tourism policies – Communication of the EC and Fidanza Report of EP.

5 PLACES OF PEACE ACTIVITIES
Tourism and peace – Cultural Route Places of Peace: - Creation of the Cultural Route based in the tangible and intangible heritage of the Places of Peace integrated in the Network. - Development of the Route based in regional routes. - To be used the model of destination management to deal with each regional route. - Integration of touristic services and cultural and natural resources.

PLACES OF PEACE APPLICATION FORM – EUROPEAN CULTURAL ROUTES Overall objectives: - to contribute to differentiating the European tourism offer, capitalising on the shared cultural heritage; - to contribute integrating both horizontally and vertically the cultural tourism sector, facilitating clusters/networks of both cultural tourism products and enterprises of the cultural tourism sector.

PLACES OF PEACE APPLICATION FORM – EUROPEAN CULTURAL ROUTES Financed actions: The call will support initiatives aimed at promoting and giving more visibility to trans-national Cultural-Tourism Routes - here after referred to as "Routes" - (also including those recognised by the Council of Europe).

PLACES OF PEACE APPLICATION FORM – EUROPEAN CULTURAL ROUTES Financed actions: By Route, within the context of this call, it is intended that an itinerary that could either be physical (based on a physical infrastructure) or virtual (linking places/destinations/attractions which have a conceptual link, e.g. a common theme). Hence, these routes are not necessarily built on existing physical route infrastructures.

PLACES OF PEACE APPLICATION FORM – EUROPEAN CULTURAL ROUTES The proposal: - The proposal must mainly focus on communication and/or promotional tools and/or campaigns. - Each proposal must cover at least 2 "(Pan) European" Cultural-Tourism Routes having similar themes and/or geographical proximity. - Each Route must have a significant "European dimension". The route shall both be trans-national, covering at least 3 different CIP. - Each Route must have a cultural theme which is clearly identifiable all along the route. - At least one partner (public or private) must have its main activity in the field of marketing, communication, ICT.

PLACES OF PEACE APPLICATION FORM – EUROPEAN CULTURAL ROUTES EU Financing: Maximum EU co-financing rate of eligible costs: 75 % Maximum European Union co-financing ceiling per project: €. Our proposal will be in the maximum ,00 €. Proposals with a EU co-financing beyond any of the above two maxima will be ineligible.

PLACES OF PEACE APPLICATION FORM – EUROPEAN CULTURAL ROUTES  Proposal: - Website - Marketing initiatives (Campaigns, leaflets) - Agreements with tour operators - Minimum of 4 partners from different countries : Portugal, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Germany and Spain (confirmed) - Timetable: 18 months To fulfill the requirements: - Agreement with another Network | Genuineland
