F2 and Yr1 went to the farm.

For our topic on animals, our F2’s to Brooksby Farm to look at all of the different animals and to see the new baby lambs that have been born. We even got to stroke one!
In foundation we work from a document called ‘development matters’. This is how we assess children and help them with their next steps. This is the statement linked to our learning this week.

3. We walked across muddy fields looking for some natural habitats
We walked across muddy fields looking for some natural habitats. We had a good splish splash splosh in the huge puddles we found on the way!
“It’s so muddy!”
Good job we had our wellies on!

4. We stopped half way through the field to listen to the farmers.
They told us all about the wild animals that lived in the fields.

5. We found the first natural habitat!
Can you guess who lives here?
It was a badgers sett!

6. We found a huge hill along the way too!
We walked down it and ran back to the top, it was tiring but so much fun!

7. “You found my home!” We found another natural habitat!
We saw some mole hills and looked at some pictures of moles!
“You found my home!”

8. We saw some cows and a huge pig who was about to have piglets
We saw some cows and a huge pig who was about to have piglets. The farmers told us that she was pregnant with 12 piglets!

9. We saw sheep and their baby lambs
We saw sheep and their baby lambs. We learnt that the numbers helped to keep the sheep matched to their babies.

10. We were so quiet when the farmer brought out a baby lamb
We were so quiet when the farmer brought out a baby lamb. We got to stroke her, she was so soft!

11. And finally we ate our lunch in the hall after we gave our hands a good scrub! We had an amazing morning!
