In order to avoid any confusion in the process of becoming formal contributor to GEOSS as data and information providers, GEO Secretariat is the entry focal point for all engagement in GEO for new data providers.
GEO Secretariat will engage with all the new Data Providers to guide them on the steps to ensure a successful dialogue and technical interoperability.

In principle, all the new data providers will go through the following process:
register themselves on the Yellow Pages website, filling a fixed-form;
be guided to undertake the technical brokering procedures with the GEO DAB team. This includes a service check, where possible, run by USGS.
